As we continue to adjust to the new normal, it can be difficult to keep a healthy schedule, let alone a healthy diet while working from home.
Especially for people suffering from long term conditions (eg. diabetes, high cholesterol, hypertension, gout and more), trying to maintain a healthy lifestyle while being socially distant can be very difficult.
To support you in developing healthy habits while juggling with the new normal, we are now offering consultations to help guide you in your health journey.
Introducing MyDoc Nutrition and Wellbeing clinic – Nutriwell for short.

Have a condition that it is not on the list that you would like us to help you? This list is not exhaustive, so please do reach out if you need some sort of nutrition support.
Each consultation follows evidenced-based nutrition. You can expect the following:
- Nutritional assessment where we will find out about your medical, social, diet and weight history; lifestyle, motivation and knowledge about nutrition and much more.
- From here we formulate your nutrition diagnosis and communicate with you what is the main issue encountered and then we work together with a plan.
- This nutrition plan varies according to what your needs are. It can include setting up goals, work on a meal plan, nutritional counselling or education.
All of this is highly personalised and it all dependable and what YOUR needs are.
We understand that changing diet and lifestyle is not easy and that is why all consultations are inclusive of a free follow-up consult.
Nutritional assessment – prior to the consultation you will be asked to fill up a questionnaire with some questions on your medical, social, diet history and well as some questions to assess your motivation. It takes 10 minutes to complete. The questionnaire allows the dietitian to have a clear view of your lifestyle and diet. Filling the questionnaire prior to the consultation allows the consultation time to be focused on you and your needs.
What do I need to prepare for the consultation?
Keep any blood test that you have done recently in hand, and take note of what you ate 3 days prior to the appointment. Also, write down any questions you may have so you won’t forget anything.
Do I need to take notes during the consult?
The dietitian will send you a summary at the end of the consultation, but you can always take notes of the points that you find relevant.
Did you say free follow-up consult?
Yes, after your initial consultation, you will have a follow-up appointment free of charge at a date and time agreed between you and the dietitian. This is to ensure that whatever changes in your lifestyle that were discussed during the first consultation were implemented successfully. If you face any challenges or still have any burning questions this will be the right time to address them.
If I have high cholesterol, diabetes, blood pressure or want to lose weight will 2 appointments be enough?
Any condition that requires deep changes in lifestyle requires more long follow up for at least 12 weeks to a year! For example, for people with Diabetes to achieve a reduction of HbA1c the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics recommends 3 to 6 consults during the first 6 months. A similar number of consults are recommended for improvement of cholesterol levels. Studies show that the more the visit with the dietitian the better results people achieve.
You can still consult a dietitian and get your programme kickstart and then enrol after in our health management programme or LivingLite.
Also, depending on your condition and your health goals you might require further sessions. Your dietitian will discuss it with you during the consultation.
If I need a referral would I have it?
Definitely, we will advise you if the issues that you are experiencing are beyond nutrition science and you need some medical attention. At MyDoc we have a panel of doctors ready to support you 24/7.
