I’ve been assigned for Home Recovery. What should I do?

HRP is the default care arrangement for everyone, except for :

  • Partially or unvaccinated individuals aged 50 years and older;
  • Vaccinated persons 80 years and older;
  • Children aged less than 1 year, and children aged 1 to 4 years who have been assessed to be clinically unsuitable for home recovery.
Click here for more information, instructions and detailed guidelines

If you are not eligible for HRP, you will receive a call from MOH to schedule your transfer to an appropriate care facility.
You can find out more about Non Home Recovery options on the MOH site.

Immediate action

  1. You should immediately self-isolate from other household members in a separate room, preferably with an attached bathroom. Do not interact with anyone.
  2. Do not leave your house. There is no need to go to the hospital or call 995.
  3. Stay calm and monitor your health.

What to expect

  1. You should receive an SMS within 48 hours of your positive test result on HealthHub to inform you of your Isolation Order (IO).
    • If you do not receive an SMS within 48 hours, please fill in this form from MOH.
    • In the same SMS, you will be informed that you are eligible for Home Recovery Programme (HRP).
    • There will be a link for you to provide your details and register your household members as close contacts.
    • Your household members will receive a Health Risk Warning (HRW) and can refer to this page for what they should do.
  2. A Home Recovery Buddy will contact you to onboard you onto the HRP.

What to do in the coming days

  1. During your Home Recovery period, you will have access to a Home Recovery Buddy (HRB) for any non-medical assistance. You can reach them at 6874 4939.
  2. If you’re feeling unwell and need medical assistance, you can request for a telemedicine provider via MOH’s TeleMedicine Allocation and Reconcilation System (TMARS).
    • If you have trouble accessing the service, you can contact your Home Recovery Buddy who can help you submit a request.
    • Depending on your condition, your assigned telemedicine provider will closely monitor your progress via 2 to 3 touchpoints over 10 days.
    • Alternatively, you can also connect directly with a MyDoc doctor via MyDoc COVID-19 Clinic(Please see FAQ for more information about choosing telemedicine providers.)
  3. Practise good personal hygiene by washing hands regularly with soap and water.
  4. Monitor your temperature, pulse rate and oxygen saturation daily. No reporting of your readings is required.

When can I be discharged?

For fully vaccinated individuals, and children aged 12 years and below

  1. You will automatically be discharged on Day 10, 12pm onwards. No test is required.
  2. A discharge memo will be issued to you via SMS on the same day.

For unvaccinated individuals above the age of 12

What to do after getting discharged

  2. If you feel unwell after discharge, connect with a GP or use MyDoc COVID-19 Clinic for COVID-19  related concerns.
  3. You can show the end date of your original Isolation Order SMS as proof of recovery. If you have received a discharge memo, that can also be used as proof of recovery.
  4. Please disinfect your room after you’re discharged.

I still have questions

I've ran out of ART test kits. How can I get more if I can't leave the house?

If you are unable to leave your home, you may arrange for family, friends or relatives to help you purchase them. Alternatively, you may purchase them online and have it delivered to you.

If you are currently placed under Home Recovery, you can also reach out to your Home Recovery Buddy to arrange for ART test kits to be sent to you.

Please refer to Health Science Authority (HSA)’s website for the list of authorised self-test kits.

Can I choose my preferred telemedicine provider?

If you are submitting at request via MOH’s TMARS, you won’t be able to choose your preferred telemedicine provider. You will be assigned one at random, depending on which telemedicine provider receives your request as distributed by the system.

If you prefer to speak to a MyDoc doctor instead, you may connect directly with MyDoc’s doctors using the  MyDoc COVID-19 Clinic. Please do note to your doctor that you have tested positive for COVID and have been placed under the Home Recovery Programme.

Can I still do a Day 6 PCR test for early discharge?

In a previous process, patients were able to opt for a PCR test on day 6 of Home Recovery, and be discharged early if the test results are negative.

That option is no longer available under the new protocols set by MOH.

I have tested positive for COVID-19 but have no symptoms. Do I need to go to a clinic to take a PCR test?

If you have tested positive for COVID-19, but have no symptoms, i.e. you are well, you do not need to go to a clinic to take a PCR test.

Please refer to “If you are feeling fine and have tested positive for COVID-19″ under the tab “I have tested positive for COVID-19” listed above.

You may also want to check a full list of procedures listed on the MOH website here

I have tested positive on my Antigen Rapid Test (ART) self-test. Do I need to report my results to anyone?

If you test positive on an Antigen Rapid Test (ART) self-test but are well, you do not need to report your results. Follow the protocols listed above, under the tab “I have tested positive for COVID-19”You may also want to check a full list of procedures listed on the MOH website here
