MyDoc offers health screening services from the comfort of one’s home
SINGAPORE, 31 August 2021 – MyDoc, a B2B digital healthcare platform, is offering health screening services under Prudential Singapore’s (“Prudential”) healthcare partnership programme, PRUPanel Connect (PPC), to customers who wish to have their health screenings done at home or at one of their partner clinics.
Under the PPC programme, Prudential’s PRUExtra Premier, PRUExtra Premier CoPay, and PRUExtra Preferred CoPay customers can choose from four types of health screening packages. Designed to address a variety of health needs, these health screening services seek to meet the demand for health services that can be done via digital channels or remotely. This will also help customers stay safe during the COVID-19 pandemic even as they continue to access essential healthcare services beyond video consultations with doctors.
Melisa Teoh, Chief Operating Officer of MyDoc, said “With the recent spike of COVID-19 cases, it’s clear that we must continue to stay vigilant to fight against the virus. As a digital healthcare provider, we have a duty of care to the public by providing services that allow users to stay in control of their health without worrying about the risks of transmission.”
“Since the start of the pandemic, we have seen an increase in demand for telehealth. In fact, we recorded a 272% increase in the number of monthly active users on our platform from January 2019 to January 2021. This tells us that digital health is here to stay. Together with health partners like Prudential, we are committed to supporting the community by rolling out innovative healthcare services that meet their needs,” she added.
According to MyDoc’s internal data, one of the commonly sought-after digital health services is for chronic disease and general health management. According to observations by MyDoc doctors, many employees are developing health issues due to poor lifestyle and health choices while working from home with limited access to community health and wellness services.
With the health screening services offered under the PRUPanel Connect programme, customers can choose to conduct regular health checks so as to better monitor and manage their health. Health screening is crucial for the early detection of health issues; early interventions can prevent the onset of diseases and reduce the risk of future health complications.
Said Dr. Sidharth Kachroo, Medical Director and Head of Medical Portfolio Management, Prudential Singapore, “We want to help our customers take a proactive approach to preventative healthcare, and one important part of that is going for regular health screenings. Earlier detection of medical conditions will mean more effective treatment and better outcomes for the individual. Prudential Singapore is pleased to partner MyDoc to help our customers live well for longer, and build a robust healthcare system.”
Also included in all MyDoc packages is a video consultation with a MyDoc doctor through Prudential’s digital health and wellness app, Pulse by Prudential (“Pulse”). MyDoc’s panel of doctors are locally registered general practitioners (GP) licensed with the Singapore Medical Council.
Customers will be prompted to access the video consultation with a doctor after receiving their health results via email. Doctors will be able to recommend relevant advice based on the customer’s health results or refer customers to PRUPanel Connect specialists for further care if required.
Customers who opt for the home-based health screening option can also choose to add flu vaccination either as a part of their package or as a standalone offering.
MyDoc and Prudential have been working closely since 2019 to offer customers access to health services on Pulse such as a video consultation with a doctor. This partnership provides their customers with convenient access to quality healthcare.
